 Brine King Shinguard Review

Brine King Shin Guard Review

The Brine King shin guard is more geared towards being lightweight with minimal bulk, but they will also provide a fair amount of protection. The actual shell of the shin guard is made from a fairly thin layer of plastic that is easily flexed when bending it in your hand. This is a shin guard that is made to be lightweight and out of the, which is definitely the case since they only weigh 2.1oz! The backing on the shin guard is thin layer of hard foam and is pretty standard as far as what you will find on most shin guards. The fit of the shin guard is definitely on the smaller side. I wore my usual size large and they cover about half of my shin, which is what you would expect from a shin guard of this type. They aren’t all that wide either, so for those of you with very wide shins, these may not fit you all that well.

For me, the real star is the sleeve that these shin guards come with. They are made of a super soft, almost silk-like material, that is super stretchy. There is also a little cut out section of the sleeve where they put a very thin strip of material in order to prevent stretching, which is always the problem with shin guard sleeves. To get a better idea of what I am talking about, check out the video above. The sleeve is also pocketed, so you have the option to place the shin guard in the sleeve pocket or just placing the shin guard directly against your leg.

If you are looking for a lightweight, none bulky shin guard that is still going to provide some protection, plus a great sleeve, the Brine King shin guards may be for you. They are also very reasonably priced, so you really can’t go wrong.
